Emmett on the move

Emmett has been trying to crawl lately, and its really funny how frustrated he gets that he can't do it. I think he forgets sometimes that he is only 6 months old.

This video has some rare glimpses of him getting grumpy. He is such a happy kid, I almost forget what his cry sounds like sometimes!

this and that

We got a new camera a few weeks back and I haven't been able to figure out how to upload the photos until today! Here are a few snapshots of our recent days...

I thought this was a good pic of me... until I zoomed in!
HOLY FRECKLES!!!!

Kickaroos in training

helping Daddy set up

I can't get enough of that face! How did this kid get so photogenic?!

The infamous Nemo hat. I recently bought him a real MLB hat so he would stop wearing this one out. Not that it isn't adorable, but it was getting WAY too small.

New PJ's make life so much easier. Bedtime is exciting!

The little guy is getting so big! Lots of eating and almost crawling!

Countdown to the opening of our newly refurbished Target! (Is anyone more obsessed with Target than me? I doubt it.)

We tried on one of Henry's old costumes to make sure it fit Emmett this year. That is one cyte lil' chick!!

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society : A MUST READ!

I just finished it and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable things I have ever read. I am sure your library won't have a copy, so just go out and buy it for heaven's sake! You will want to read it again anyway.

Side note: Think of me when you get to the "dead bride" part. I cried, but only from laughing. It was hilarious!

First day of school, first day of school!!!

(That was Nemo.)

MaryEllen started school yesterday and had an awesome first day. She was super excited and so were we.

Henry was excited, too, until he realized that he wouldn't be going with her! He recently discovered a little Elmo backpack we had at the house and apparently he thought the only requirement to go to kindergarten was wearing a backpack. Poor kid.

I cried like a baby as we were walking away, but at least I held it together while we were in the classroom. I look at Emmett now and think it feels like it was just yesterday that MaryEllen was his size. Now she is practically on her own! (for 3 hours and 20 minutes a day, at least.) I HAVE A KINDERGARTNER!!! I guess it's time for that quarter- life crisis I've been planning.

Mac n' cheese and grapes, her favorite lunch to fuel her day!

So excited!!!

Friends already! MaryEllen's friends MacKenzie (from preschool) and Haley (from soccer) are in her class. And of course, there's Henry, still totally unaware that he isn't one of them.

All ready to learn! (check out all those electrical chords! I just noticed them, but MaryEllen did say when I asked her what she learned, "NO touching the chords!" Now I know why!)

My favorite quote after picking her up, "I love kindergarten! I bet Daddy loved it, too." What am I, chopped liver?

MaryEllen's first soccer game

A couple of weeks ago Rosemont Soccer had it's kickoff jamboree and MaryEllen played in her first game! (Okay, so it was a 10 minute exhibition game, but it was her first real competition.) She played goalie for the first half and had a couple of great saves! The second half she was in the action on the field. She just ran around the pack of little girls with a huge smile on her face. It was so precious! Brian has been coaching her and the other girls, and I think the team is going to do great this year! GO KICKAROOS!!!!!!

#6 ready to hit the field!

It's a lonely job, but somebody's gotta do it.

I had a bunch of other pics, but blogger won't let me upload them due to "internal error". I'll try again next time.
